It builds essential first-year law skills—case law analysis, legal reasoning, and analytical writing—and measures proficiency in those areas. This approach better reflects law school readiness and offers an alternative path for students.

For the 2025-26 law school admissions cycle, over 60 law schools can accept JD-Next instead of the LSAT.

JD-Next offers three registration tiers:

Early Registration: $399 up to 30 days before the course begins

Standard Registration: $459 until the course start date

Late Registration: $499 after the course begins
